About the company:
Our client is an ambitious deep-tech startup building a novel, natively agentic graph-neuro-symbolic AI system with general capabilities. Unlike most companies in the AI space, they are not building on top of existing ML architectures - the team conducts original research into alternative and often overlooked approaches to artificial intelligence, with a genuine commitment to AI safety and alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and performant user interfaces using Vue.js
- Translate complex user workflows and product requirements into intuitive, accessible UI with a considered approach to visual design and UX
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver responsive and coherent user experiences
- Build reusable UI components and improve frontend best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines
- Contribute to full-stack development efforts involving Rust and Python services where appropriate
- Optimize application performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and mentoring of junior engineers
- Take ownership of features from concept through production deployment and ongoing maintenance
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional frontend development experience, with proven expertise in Vue.js or comparable component-based JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks
- Solid command of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and frontend architecture principles
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working alongside backend systems; exposure to Rust and/or Python is a plus
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions) and containerized development environments
- Ability to design and improve user workflows supported by web-based tools
- Familiarity with UI design principles
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading frontend initiatives is highly desirable
Nice to Have:
- Experience with hardware-accelerated frontend technologies such as WebGL
- Familiarity with Rust and Python backend ecosystems
- Experience with frontend performance optimization and accessibility standards
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices
- Understanding of secure web application development principles
- Open-source contributions or involvement in technical communities
Employment Conditions:
- Salary: 14-17M JPY per year + stock options
- Schedule: Flexible outside of scheduled team meetings - results-oriented, no micromanagement
