About the role:
The HFT Core team is looking for a Lead Engineer (C++) to own the system technically and grow it. In the near term you would lead a team of 3-4 engineers, reporting directly to the CTO.
Responsibilities:
- Own the architecture of the trading platform end to end, and take responsibility for key technical decisions
- Design and build core HFT infrastructure from scratch, including a high-performance runtime for market data ingestion and order execution
- Decompose the platform into clear areas of ownership and delegate them to engineers, staying hands-on where it matters
- Develop a backtesting system for trading strategies
- Optimize systems for low latency and high throughput
- Work closely with the research team to feed models and pipelines directly into trading
Requirements:
- Deep production experience with C++
- Background in HFT
- Ability to design systems and architecture from scratch and own them technically
- Solid grasp of performance optimization and system design
- High autonomy and confidence making technical decisions independently
- People-management experience is a plus but not required. This is first and foremost a technical lead role
- Professional working English
